Monarch Population – Worst Year Ever

monarch population

I was reading a blog post by Monarch Watch and the Monarch population is the worst ever. We may be lucky if we see a Monarch this coming year.

I took your advice to stop feeding the birds in my yard during summer and in November found six monarchs feeding on my butterfly bush, along with other butterflies. I’m pretty they all came from my garden. I raised one monarch earlier.

This is really disturbing – and so sad.

I had two Monarch’s appear in my central Florida garden this week(3/2/14). Earlier than last year thanks to no freeze winter here. I let milkweed plants stay wherever they appear in my garden and have native milkweed plus tropical milkweed for them. Hopefully you will have them appear this spring.
