How to Have an Early Spring in February

One of the tricks I use to bring spring a bit earlier to my garden is this. In the fall I plant thousands of seeds which need cold-stratification, in different beds in the yard.Today, Feb. 21st,  I went out to the beds and dug up some of the seeds and brought them inside under artificial lights. The seedlings are tricked into thinking that spring has arrived and soon I’ll have lots of new plants started.

Here’s what the seedlings look like as of March 10th.
