Starting Milkweed – Now!

I just planted my tropical milkweeds seeds inside. You can see my setup. Asclepias curassavica

1. Regular Miracle Gro potting mix in a covered tray.

2. Cover the seeds about 1/8″.

3. Moisten.

4. Put the plastic lid on.

5. Wait about a week and seedlings should be popping up.

6. When the plants get about 3″ tall and have “true” leaves I transplant them to their own cell or container.

If you have a growers pad to warm the tray from below, that helps. See the picture below to see how much it helps.

Also note that if you spray the top with a fungicide it will help keep down the green gunk on top.
