Lantana is not hardy up north, but it’s easy to take some cuttings in the
fall and keep them going over the winter in the basement.
As you see buckeyes love lantana.
I like Irene, Samson, and a Lemon Crème – which is shown in the video.
Just experiment – find ones which do well in your area and pitch the rest.
Their main requirement is SUN and lots of it.
From my experience, most lantanas are good nectar sources.
One of my favorites is the dwarf Nanho Purple Buddleia.
It’s a great nectar source, but stays in a much more compact form.
Whiteball buddleia, another dwarf, doesn’t do as well and has died out on me once.
